The acrobatic feisty silver salmon enter the Kenai each year in late July and run through September into early October. The silvers are worthy opponents to test all anglers' skills. These fish range between 8-20 pounds.

Every year starting at the end of August there is an annual Silver Salmon Derby. It sets the tone for competition and fun for all fisherman who enter.
