Without question the Ling Cod is both the ugliest and at the same time the very best
eating fish in Alaska. The Ling Cod fishing season begins on July 1 and extends through the month of September with the time period of
July-August being the peak season
, and there is a 35 inch minimum retention limit on Ling Cod, although the majority of Lings which we see are much larger then that
(25-40 pounders). Ling Cod are found in the
salt water.
